Passing football

With Barcelona emerging as one of the greatest teams ever everyone wants to retain possession. Britton at Swansea has become, apparently, one of the best in Europe.

However, Barcelona have Messi et al to provide an end product. I watch games, where I don't care who wins, and am frequently bored senseless. We are lucky with Lambert that he likes his team to pass the ball but also to get balls into the box. Endless passing the ball around the back 4 then to the defensive midfielder and back again is tedious.

I hate Stoke with a venom as I did their predecessors; Wimbledon but think ball retention is great when a means to an end but when used as with a view, mainly, that the other team can't score if they haven't got the ball it is boring and made all the worse by referees not allowing tackles any more.
