Basically...

...the long and short of it is Seagate say I have to format the drive...

All the extra gubbins I wasn't expecting are a promotion apparently: presented as if you have to download it all to get up and running...

So to get rid and move towards the plug 'n' play scenario I was expecting, and the way it is sold, formatting is the way forwards...

I'm not impressed but I've bought the f**ker so will use it but as it stands I won't be going with them again...
