So I thought I'd have a stab at learning Japanese

That's not entirely true: I just want to understand the word order and sentence construction, cos I watch a lot of Japanese fillums and the word order in the subtitles seems interesting.

I've downloaded a Michel Thomas-style course and have just been listening to it. I've come to a sudden stop because of the Japanese word for 'sometimes', which sounds like 'Tocky Dockee". every time they say it, I crease up and giggle for up to 5 minutes. I'd better never go to Japan.

I accept that this may not be terribly interesting.
