My very first experience of driving in Ireland, ten years ago.

Coming up to Shannon town, a car in front of me slowed down quite reasonably for traffic lights.

Except the lights were green.

And he went when they turned red.

Unnerving (especially with a 500 quid excess damage waiver).

But their new motorways, other than the M50 Dublin ring road, are f**king magnificent. All EU funded when they thought Ireland would continue to be a cash cow.
