1. "plasmas have a warmer picture in my opinion. LEDs are a bit severe."

That's a myth. How 'warm' the picture looks depends upon the settings. In a shop, they put the LED/LCD TV's on "dynamic" mode so that they look vivid and bright. They do this as it sells more TV's (but you wouldn't want to put it on that setting at home). Once you put an LED/LCD on the right settings, the picture can look stunning and clear - whereas a plasma will always look a bit foggy. Also plasma TV pictures can look grey (rather than black) in a bright room, whereas black colour still loks black on an LED/LCD.

2. "Get one with built in wifi and you'll get iplayer and youtube and that. Oh, and HD and 3D".

Just about all new TV's have iplayer etc. and you don't need wi-fi for it. Wi-fi isn't very good for streaming HD pictures. Far better picture quality can be had by streaming using homeplugs.
