Surely what everyone wants

is for England to be there, to play decent football and to do well.

If there are English people who didn't enjoy the way we beat Argentina or the way we pulled Denmark apart in 2002, then I would suggest they are nolt right in the head.

It's easy to forget how competitive we've been at major tournaments prior to 2008 and lump everything since 1970 together as 'England are s**t'. Well that's just not true.
