If you are now saying that there are other reasons, then fine!

Personally, I don't really know and it's not a particularly easy argument to rationalise. The top pair in Spain look streets ahead of the top two in England. But what about, say, the bottom six? Is La Liga a better standard and more competitive throughout? Not sure if that can be judged.

I would probably lean towards La Liga right now but, as I said, last night doesn't really prove or disprove anything. If it did you could start making a case for Cypriot football's place in the pecking order.
