And once again goes to show what role the local media play in demonising local authorities and painting genuinely horrific people as victims.

Every time you see a poor glum family in the papers who have been 'made homeless' by the local council, I can guarantee you one thing: it was absolutely 100% the fault of the family who are either refusing to pay rent, causing a nuisance or lying about their circumstances.

Councils have (guess what?) 'laws' and statutory responsibilities to house those in need.

Local papers know this. But that doesn't really sell does it?
