Yesterday on here looked fun!

Some people are getting weirdly angry about s**t at the moment.

I suppose in Lambert's defence, maybe he is looking to use his whole squad as effectively as possible and he will be looking at each player's 'levels' before making selection decisions.

True, Johnson is a weird one. There were times earlier in the season when I thought he looked the real deal; more recently though he's looked less certain. I would have done it differently at half time too as well. Wilbraham for Howson, possibly.

But... I can't help thinking there is a 'bigger picture' approach in some of the decisions Lambert is making. I have the sneaking suspicion that (in much the same way he rotated entirely different set-ups at the start of the season), Lambert is trying a few things out in the knowledge that we are all but safe.

He will have very important decisions to make in a couple of month's time and he is targeting games which in his view we must win. But I wonder if there are games which he believes are not on that particular list where he wants to see a few different things with next season in mind.

Perhaps he is the arch pragmatist and believes that the best way to build a team for next season is to establish as soon as possible what works and what doesn't.

I wonder if the Sunderland, Leicester and Stoke games fall in to that category - telling Lambert really important things about some players and some combinations.
