i believe you can with most, and certainly can with a Netgear ReadyNAS

another thing to consider is what software you might want to be able to install on a NAS - i chose the ReadyNAS specifically as it's one of only 2 (or was at the time) that allowed to to run Logitech's Squeezebox Server for my networked music needs
