I remain utterly torn

between the ever increasing irritation caused by Grant Holt being overlooked and the fear that (as I said last night) he would become the poster boy among the morons for 'look how far England have sunk'.

Anyone who thinks he some footballing luddite simply hasn't seen him play this season. He's done the lot:
Screamer - Man U
Quick thinking/delicate - Chelsea, Everton
Powerful target man - Liverpool
Pace/distribution - West Brom
Clinical - Swansea

A few months back I said how amazing it would be to see Dean Ashton in this side. Now I'm wondering if it would have been more amazing to see the Horse grabbing that 2005 rabble by the bollocks and dragging them up the table.
