This "Man U got away with it" line: very one-eyed. I hate to say it, but they were

a class above in most ways, with the exception of effort. They had better players in most positions, with the exceptions of CF and Evans at CB. The biggest difference I saw was the speed of thought - anticipating where the ball was going to go. We lack that, and that's why we were so knackered at the end and defended so deep that MU were able to play 5 in attack for the last 5 minutes or so.
