It was not the north stand that was infiltrated but the side to the right of the North stand as the lower half was standing back in the day. About a hour before kick off there were a couple of hundred Norwich without tickets looking for ways to get in the ground when all of a sudden two large gates were opened to lets some official looking cars in and that was it everybody just rushed in me included even though I had a ticket there was just one large rush with everybody darting in every direction. everybody then meet up on the terrace near the Norwich fans and that's when the fun really started with a few Ipswich nuckleheads picking on single city fans as nobody realized just how many Norwich were in this section but it soon became clear as soon as the teams came out and all the city started singing and that was the Que for the trouble with milk crates flying though the air along with anything else the scummers could lay there hands on but we did not move and the police formed a barrier between us and left us there much to the scummers disgust.
As for the game I remember we got absolutely mullered and could have lost by four or five. Then back to Carrow road and the famous Steve Bruce goal which is my favorite Norwich moment ever, I remember all the fans flooding onto the pitch and there was still a couple on the pitch after the game had been restarted and one lad was doing a cartwheel in the center circle. When the final whistle went everybody was back on the pitch me included and I remember running by Terry Butcher who was crying,Classic.
But that was when we took the cups seriously!
