I was doing holiday relief in pubs around Norfolk/Suffolk at the time ...

As it happens I was running a pub on a housing estate in the middle of Ips**t for the two weeks of the semi finals, I took over from the landlord middle of the week before the game. First night was a bit scary, the pub was like The Canary in Norwich but worse! So I bit the bullet when the pub was packed later and announced I was a City fan and they were all scummers and I was a scummer to them, as long as we all understood that we would get on fine. They seemed to appreciate my honesty/bluntness and we got on fine. When the game came along on the Saturday, I was invited to go along with some of the regulars so had to go in the North stand with all the mongs! Didn't have much to cheer about thank goodness, so escaped with my life! They were all on about they had one foot at Wembley blah blah etc. I said we would do them at our place. Return leg came along and most of the pub went, I couldn't go as had to run the pub so put the wireless on in the bar, when Brucie scored I went nuts and then got pelted with ashtrays by the customers! All in good fun of course! When they all came in the next night I had festooned the optics with my City scarves, they weren't best pleased! All in all it was a good three weeks in scumsville! OTBC
