I think the venue is there through per expediancy

Totally agree, Stratford is still a s**t place but there is an awful a lot of money gone into it. It was prob the only place in london with that amount of acreage to spare. But disagree with its readiness (and I have to declare an interest here, the company I work for built it - well a 1/3 of it). I sincerely hope it is a massive sucess - but it means nothing to me
