Why is it an odd choice?

Have you ever met this guy? Or anyone else with DS? He works at the Club and is quite an inspiring young man, so surely it is an ideal choice seeing as part of the role of the Community Sports Foundation is to work with some people who are rather less fourtunate than ourselves, particularly children and the disabled.
