I've got the German and the British DVD and the endings are subtly different. *SPOILER*

In the German version there's an extra couple of minutes where they nick Hardenberg's boat in the Med and sail off into the distance. The British version finishes with the note on the wall: Manche Menschen ?ndern sich nie (some people never change), which I agree is neat, but I like the final scene in the German version sailing away...
