Wroff aid req'd - morning digital radio stations

Evenin' all.

I bought myself a didgy alarm radio for xmas so I'd no longer have to listen to Moyles refusing to play any records (my old rayjo was stuck on one channel). Taking advice from off of on here, I've been listening to Radio 6, and it's f**king dire. Feb 8th and I've heard ONE interesting song this year (Anna Calvi, btw). I don't want Jimi Hendrix at 6.15am, and nor do I want to hear Blondie, or a jazz band playing their version of No Diggety.

Bearing in mind that the first priority is Getting Me Out Of My Stinking Pit, what I'm after is mindless pop boogie bollocks and/or a vacuous DJ who may at any moment say something so dumb that I get out of bed in protest. That's how my radio became stuck on radio 1.

Also, it has to be a beeb station so the first thing I hear in the morning isn't an advert. So I guess that leaves me with only BBC local radio - can anyone who lives over this way (North West) recommend one at all please? Or any other recommendations please?
