plenty of things could go wrong. But I did always think that much of our success then was due to the fact that an entire squad reached its peak together. Less obviously the case now.

(Although you could equally well make a list of the first team players who probably are close to their peak now:
Martin; Whitbread; Tierney; Fox; Wessi; Surman; Holt; Morison.
Lots of core first teamers there. So always plenty of work to do to improve the squad...)
