Season Ticket Help Required

My Grandad wants to renew his ticket, however as he has cancer he probably won't be able to make many (if any) of the games next season. We want to switch his ticket from an over 75 to an adult ticket and pay the difference, purely to save everyone paying the upgrade fee everytime someone else has the seat.

Will the club let me or will they say, it needs to be sold to someone else on the season ticket waiting list?
