And the 3 teams to be relegated from the Premier League this season are...

Sorry to be stepping into usac territory here, but I like to amuse myself with facts and figures from time to time.

Here was my rationale at full time today. 14 games left to go... and so I wondered how the bottom teams had fared over the previous 14 games to determine how they may end the season (given that their inconsistent form will almost certainly continue in a relatively consistent pattern).

So after 10 games played, the table looked as follows:

8 Norwich P10 Pts 13 GD -1
12 QPhaha P10 Pts 12 GD -7
13 WBA P10 Pts 11 GD -4
17 Wullufs P10 Pts 8 GD -8
18 Blackburns P10 Pts 6 GD -10
19 Notlob P10 Pts 6 GD -14
20 Wigans P10 Pts 5 GD -11

Current table after 24 games is as follows:

9 Norwich P24 Pts 32 GD -5
15 WBA P24 Pts 26 GD -10
16 QPhaha P24 Pts 21 GD -16
17 Wullufs P24 Pts 21 GD -17
18 Notlob P24 Pts 20 GD -21
19 Blackburns P24 Pts 18 GD -20
20 Wigans P24 Pts 16 GD -28

So the points accrued table over the past 14 games is like this:

Norwich Pts 19
WBA Pts 15
Notlob Pts 14
Wullufs Pts 13
Blackburns Pts 12
Wigans Pts 11
QPhaha Pts 9

So if you were to apply the same number of points again across the final 14 matches this season, here would be the final table:

-- Norwich P38 Pts 51
-- WBA P38 Pts 41
16 Wullufs P38 Pts 34
17 Notlob P38 Pts 34
18 QPhaha P38 Pts 30
19 Blackburns P38 Pts 30
20 Wigans P38 Pts 27

In conclusion therefore, if form were to be reproduced in the final 14 games, then it's cheerio to Wigan, Blackburn and QPR.

However, there is bound to be a variable, but with matches running out and the pressure growing, it's hard to see how the bottom of the table will look much different come the final day.

I did (half jokingly) say after the game today that 32 points might be enough to keep us up. On the basis of my calculations above, I'm entirely correct. One thing that I'm absolutely nailed-on certain of is that we will be enjoying Premier League football again next season. In order to even give us cause for concern, the bottom three would have to get four more wins to our defeats in the final 14 games to even stand a chance of reaching us. 4 wins = 12 points. It would take an incredible upturn of form from all current bottom 5 teams to drag us near to relegation. What a shame to lose Wiglol, Blackburn 'clubs a joke' Rovers and Mark Hugheseses QPhaha team of Billy Big Bollox misfits. Can't see beyond those three being able to dig their way out of this one.

Ladies and Gentlemen. Sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of your season. All hail McNasty, Lambo and the brilliant Norwich City. I love us.
