Extraordinary Statement From Former NCFC Director

Just doing some book 'schtuff', came across this statement, made by Norwich director Robert Pilch (assume the sports shop named after him?) prior to the 1929/30 season...

?For too long we have tried the policy of safety first, now, with our new management team we mean our policy to be ?neck or nothing in the future??.

Try as I might, I just can't imagine Alan Bowkett ever saying something like that!
