Nigel Pearson sets his teams up to be well organised, defensive and counter attacking, looking to soak up pressure and break away quickly with players like Beckford, Dyer (rapidly quick) and Nugent. They've kept 4 clean sheets in their last 5 games and have a very good keeper in Kasper Schmeichel. They've only lost 3 games out of 14 since Pearson returned, opposed to the 7 games out of 19 they lost previous to that this season.
Their league position isn't really a good indicator of where they are as a team right now, just think of Crystal Palace in 03/04 before Dowie took over them. It will be a tough game, I can see it going to a replay if we don't field a well motivated, high quality XI.
Still, ILWT.
