The answers mainly consist of people who have lived in London

telling you to go for it which tells you a lot about the city. Most people don't realise quite how great the positives are until they live there.I'm genuinely excited for anyone who is going to move there because 9/10 of people I know end up loving it wondering why they didn't make the move earlier.

Most days I still miss the place TBH especially the amazing parks in spring and summer time (large and small) which cover a third of the city, the wide range of food, the transport links to the world, the variety of culture and people you meet, the variety of things to do - art, sport, music...etc...

As for some advice regarding renting a place, Holborn should be under 30mins from most places in Zone 2. Otto's suggestion is good but I think in 2012 that area is going to be expensive to rent because of the Olympics, I noticed the prices were rising in East London when I left. I think you might be able to find better value elsewhere even though East London is my personal favourite area.
