What They've Done...

...is seen what we've paid for him and made sure the fee offered reflects a nice profit for NCFC, rather than what the player might be worth to the club.

We pay ?400,000; they figure ?2 Million looks a decent fee and a nice profit for Norwich. If we'd paid ?750'000 for him, maybe they'd be offering ?3 Million?

Buying clubs will always offer an amount they think will pique the interest of the selling club, the perceived value of the player doesn't come into it. Rangers would also be aware that Holt would have no resale value.

Holloway said he wouldn't sell Adam last season as his worth to Blackpool was as much as the ?35 Million that helping them stay in the Premier League was. The player wasn't worth that. Same with us and Holt-if they offer us ?30 Million, lets talk-same reasons as Holloway gave for Adam.

They won't and no-one would. And as its likely he'll be playing in the Prem for us again next season with a likely wage rise and all sorts of bonuses attached, why the hell would he want to go anywhere?

It's a non-story, ditto Morison-for now. It may unsettle people at the club or deflect peoples attention momentarily from the main objective, and maybe thats the intention-rattle the cage a bit and see if they suffer as a result?
