or at least not easily.

ask yourself - do you still want players to be able to shield the ball anywhere else on the pitch?

if so, how do you have a specific rule for when they're letting it go out of play? what would the rule say?

suppose one possibility would be to say you have to touch it to prove it's under control. but then would strikers have to touch the ball every 2 seconds to proce they still have it? every three seconds? you'd be turning the game into basketball.
