Wage structure debate

I was told by a 'Canary legend' that hosts the 'Celebration' day at FCR, that there was a strict 12k cap on wages this season, and that the cap would automatically rise to 20k next season, assuming we stay in the prem.

He said this in a very matter-of-fact way, which made it seem like he was knowledgeable about the details. Assuming this is true, I leads me to several conclusions:

1. We are doing incredibly well, considering we must have the lowest wage bill on the prem

2. If the cap is in place for the whole season, then wages, not transfer fees, are almost certainly stopping Sir Paul for bringing in new players during the window.

3. I f*cking love the club even more for sticking to their principles, and not blowing out the wage structure in the transfer window. We are clearly doing fine as is, and we would run the risk of upsetting a very close squad of players, by bringing somebody who is on considerably more money than them.

Apparently the club pays out win bonuses etc, and the players will all get a big bonus if we stay up, plus their wages will pretty much double next year. All in all a very sensible and balanced approach, which is clearly motivating the players.
