I reckon it didn't really help them beating us in the end. They got too big for their

boots and thought they were world beaters. (Forgetting that we'd started well, with Holt missing a chance).

They scored two amazing strikes and the third goal came on the break as we were trying to get a goal. They saw it as a 3-0 demolition and got all complacent and struggled in following matches, whereas Sir Paul did his usual trick of making sure we bounced back and we went on to comfortably take second place.
