Apple Airport is a WiFi router

You plug it into your wall internet socket and it passes on the internet to your computer(s)/phone(s) wirelessly. There's not much that it can do that any other router can't do. Unless you get the Time Capsule version, which has a hard drive and will back up wirelessly (not certain that's a good idea personally and you can buy inexpensive external HDs that'll do the same): User Posted Link
