Which gives the board and manager a huge dilemma. Clearly it would be madness to get relegated and subsequently be thinking X & Y would have got us over the line.
The boards problem I suspect is that agents are asking for established Prem wages on the basis that we "should stay up".
The fact that wages have specifically been mentioned may suggest that we have had offers accepted/encouraged and that agents are the problem. This leads ms to believe that we may be competing for players such as Maynard who are sought by multiple clubs and as such can be greedy with their demands.
I appreciate Lamberts reluctance but I am fearful that our continental scouting may not be up to scratch. There are bargains to be hand.
We need a signing or two to lend the lads a hand. I'm sure that ultimately McNally will deliver.
I think (personal opinion) that Lambert is approaching the end of his tenure with us regardless. In order to develop as a manager he needs to be afforded the opportunity to at least compete for the Maynards, Rhodes of this world.
Hope for 3 points tomorrow. oTBC
