I dont think the board really feel the new stand idea is going to work.

probably cost 20-30M to demolish and rebuild the main stand (Wolves just paid 40M)
Financing the debt will also cost considerable interest.
Even with 5 years in the PL, I doubt it would pay for itself.

I am not convinced we would fill it as a number of home games this season have had general sale tickets.

I would have thought a far more reasonable and cheaper option would be to build a small stand in the hotel corner.

If it could hold 1000 people you could move some of the lower attended away team supporters into it and have the whole of the Jarrold (plus the seats you normally lose when dividing fans)

Maybe 5-6 PL teams might bring 1000 or less (especially midweek or TV games)

You would get around 1400 extra seats for those games
(+1000 for the rest of the games)

If we can sell out every game easily with a 28,000+ capacity, only then should we look at expanding the main stand.
