I'm only on half-meg broadband 'cos of where I live. My old voyager router died in December: I could drag in appx 160kbps in Vuze on a fast download before that.
I replaced it with a Belkin which proved to be faulty and died 3 days later. I replaced that with a Netgear and on a good day speeds are up to about 100kbps in Vuze now. (I know that's not 70% but I'm keeping it brief).
My question, which Plusnet avoided: is it possible that the faulty Belkin router has installed settings or something that have f**ked up my PC's performance? I suspect the answer is No, but nobody's confirmed or denied either way. PlusNet reckoned that my socket failed at exactly the same time the Voyaer router did, which I consoder a bit of a stretch. yes, 'consoder'.
