He was probably a good keeper

and would have gone on to be a good buy in the end. BUT what a debut - no-one recovers from that kind of one-off freak match. He wasn't helped by having Johnny O and the Admiral having equally abysmal games. Credit to Nelson for making it back from there, but an outfield player always gets a bit more leeway than a keeper.

And the A league probably isn't much above Lg 1, if at all.
