Why is it so important?

If you're not going to bother with the FA Cup we may as well not bother with the Premier League either.

Its not like any team outside the top 5 are ever going to win the Premier League so we might as well drop down into the Championship where we can compete as a big club.

I don't see why it is so "agonisingly important" to make up the numbers in a league that only needs us to pad out the fixture list.
