Holt and the Barton incident

Any reason why Holt didn't want Barton sent off?

I can understand stating it after the game but it seemed kinda odd swearing at the ref about it. There's being a fair sport but this seem peculiar

Cos Holt would have only seen the last bit I think, and not the 2
