Would much rather sign jordan rhodes or someone from out of the blue a.la crofts than shaun wright phillips etc.

I could see that a playet like joey barton might improve us as a team but what happens to team spirit when you have one guy who is on 80k a week and he may be no better than anyone else in the side (after all what experienced players are allowed to leave their current teams - Graham Stuart? Lee Bowyer?).
