As we drifted along in the late 90s, status diminished and the club seemingly shrinking

In size year after year, there was a time when I actually WANTED us to get relegated - because I figured/hoped it would give the whole club the kick up the arse it needed. In the end, that's how it turned out; but you only have to look at Sheff Wed or Nottm F to see how fortunate we've been to have turned things around so fast really.
