I agree it's double standards

1. After all my point 2 referred to Bronco Layne and his chums who were properly investigated and gaoled.
2. And my point 3 referred, in part, to the unsuccesful attempt to bribe Grobbelaar which was also properly investigated.
And also that business of having very quick throw ins was investigated as well.

Curious that the men employed by the FA aren't investigated - classic double standards indeed when players can be investigated and officials aren't.
And there is a difference as well: players make a decision and are stuck with it- Huckerby on Sunday for instance, but referees have time to reconsider - as Gus pointed out.
