back in the day when you were toe to toe with mark not so brighty bright

they had him and another expert on the sofa at bbc wittering on about racist comments on twitter and that. then john barnes came on via a video link and they asked him about how he dealt with people chucking bananas at him and the monkey noises and he said (paraphrased due to duff memory) that he never even realised it was bananas and just kicked them off and got on with it. he then said he didn't understand the monkey chants because there are some white players who look even more like monkeys. mark bright and the expert looked f**king shellshocked.
