has played one pro match somewhere, even a reserve game, they don't qualify to be taken on. They're seen as a pro already

That's like saying because Anderton played for Portsmouth at 15, that he's a fully fledged pro, and if he can't get a pro contract, he's not allowed back in the Under 16's

Kids at that age do as they're told, and it might ruin their chance in the mls (I don't know the total ins and outs of it, but it needs a revamp already)
