I have heard use of this word in many, many different places recently. I am convinced it's down to Geoff Boycott, who on Ashes commentary talked about "Michael Holding 'in his pomp'". I'd never heard this use of the word before that (its only connotation for me being Elgar!).
Does anyone else recall this linguistic usage from otherwhere?
Does anyone else give a s**t?
