Bench options vs Spurs.

We have been lucky this season to have versatile defenders both on the pitch and on the bench in Martin, De Laet and Naughton.

This has allowed us to get away with mostly just one defensive option on the bench. (we could swap and change if we got injuries)

With Naughton not playing and Lambert mentioning today that De Laet hasnt trained for two weeks (bluff?)...... that may need a bench rethink.

If De Laet isnt fit then Martin will almost certainly go to RB

You now need some kind of emergency cover at both LB and RB

LB options would be Drury, Lappin and Johnson

RB options would be.........errrr.....Please dont get injured Cafu!

Russell Martin vs Bale will be tough enough...... anyone else might be a destruction......

If De Laet cant play we probably have to go with Ayala and at least one other defensive player on the bench.

Maybe De Laet at RB has been lined up for the Spurs game all along and they have been saving him for this game. (part of the promised rotation)

Lambert, has been known to tell porkies (Whitbread needs another 90 mins)
