he is paid (handsomely I suspect) to be a pundit and offers no worthwhile analysis whatsoever.
I distinctly remember him in the World Cup having the nerve to sit there before a game and say he didn't know anything about the Slovakian team. Er, excuse me mate, you are happy to take thousands of pounds of BBC money (i.e. from us) to be flown to South Africa and put up in first class accommodation for weeks so that you can talk about football teams like Slovakia. It's your f**ing job - if you don't know about them at least have the decency to do some bloody homework!
