He flaps at probably 50% of the crosses that come into him.

The problem is, he's hesitant.

Mark Lawrenson was praising him for coming off his line a number of times to block shots, and fair play to him for that.

However, when it comes to crosses and corners he is almost rooted to his line. I'm no goalkeeper, but the number of times the ball has been whipped into our six yard box and Ruddy has not been anywhere near it this season is quite scary.

My opinion is that a goalkeeper's domain is very much the 6 yard box and that they should be breaking their neck to get to every ball in that area. I don't see this from Ruddy I'm afraid. He's been lucky a number of times that our defence (often Tanner) has been able to clear things away, and that his flaps haven't cost us more goals.

A better keeper is required, and I wouldn't be surprised that the rumour posted by someone on here after the Newcastle game is true, in that we're looking for one in January.
