I've always thought that to follow a team then you should know their history, as you say, any new fans probably aren't aware of how close we were to going bust (more than once), Matthew Harding etc, too.

I'd love to read a similar sort of book on Norwich as well.

As you say, maybe we're just old football romantics - I wasn't born until 71, but my favourite ever game is the 1970 FAC final against Leeds, the tackles, one sub, proper patchwork pitch, no replays - life was just so much simpler then!
