the whole thing was just mental, and immensely enjoyable in a not at all to be taken serious type of way

i've not seen the 2nd series yet - tragically the actor who played Spartacus contracted cancer (i think) and was too ill to take part, so they scripted a prequel instead (and so has Lucy Lawless and John Hannah in it) - he's since died - not sure if there's going to be a third now or how they might go about doing that (new actor same character? new actor different character?)
