Moneyball......what do you get for your money?

There is a lot debate on the fact parts of our team are not good enough.

The question we should ask is....... good enough for what?

If we have ambitions on winning the title then obviously virtually our whole squad would have to be improved ala Man City (and 500M in fees and wages)

If we wanted to realistically compete in the top 6 then we have to look at the clubs like spurs and liverpool and the money they spend.

Realistically we arnt going to compete in the top 6.

Realistically on our budget a finish between 8th and 14th would be an incredible achievement.

The point is spending 80M vs 40M doesnt really buy you that much.
Especially if you pay that in over inflated markets like the Jan transfer window.
You get better players but....... still not good enogh vs the top 8 teams.

Teams like Birmingham and West Ham have gotten relegated even with slightly bigger budgets than those around them.

From a purely business standoint our goal should be to stay in the PL while spending the least amount of money possible.
Its a very tricky balance...........
