Talking of "not a good role model for a little 'un", did I ever tell you the story

of the time I bumped into the wife of one of my mates, whom I hadn't seen for some time?

I'll do it anyway cos it was about 10yrs ish ago. So I was chatting away for a while, apologising for having not been round there for ages and asking how things were etc, and I asked after their young son, who'd have been about 5 last time I'd seen him.

Her: Oh he's fine, growing up and that. It's much better now we've managed to stop him throwing things at the TV and shouting "Get off my bloody telly"

Me: Oh. Er, sorry about that.

In my partial defence, i did only do it once, in that house anyway, and I didn't know the boy was in the room, or that he'd think it was the best thing he'd ever seen. And it WAS Motson on the telly, after all.
