They use https connections while logging in but you have been able to enable secure browsing accross the whole site for about a year.

Nothing posted to Facebook is secure anyway or it wouldn't be a "social" network. Your details are only ever as secure as your lease trust worthy friend (or person you met once at a party but added to make it look like you have more friends).
