as there's certainly no pilot I can see or access easily.
From what I know of these boilers, when you turn the water on it creates a drop in pressure that pulls on a rubber membrane - that in turn opens up the gas flow.
The thing is the minimum gas flow is still very high, and conversely I never need the maximum flow even on the coldest of days, so I was thinking maybe there was a way of setting the thermostat much lower to give me more play.
I don't actually think there's anything wrong with the boiler at all, it's just badly calibrated
